Frequently Asked Questions.
Friday, Saturday & Sunday from 10am-3pm.
We are open for walk up orders to takeaway. We have outdoor seating back too! No reservations required.
You might see us at the bakery on Wednesdays/Thursdays as this is when we prep some of our goods ready for the weekend. We make everything, (custard, jam, toppings, marshmallow fluff, ice cream!) from scratch.
We are not currently taking pre-orders for collection!
We’re back to normal opening hours for takeaway so you can just swing by and order from the counter from 10am (Fri, Sat & Sun).
If you are after particular flavours or a certain number of doughnuts we’d recommend coming by before 12pm to make sure you have a good, full selection to choose from.
Yes we do!
Physical cards including little envelopes are available for collection from the bakery (Fri, Sat & Sun 10am-3pm) OR we can send one out to you via email as an e-voucher barcode.
You can load them up with any amount you like, which the recipient can then spend bit by bit or all in one go if they wish!
If you would like to send a voucher via email, then get in touch at hello@provengoods.co with the amount you would like, and we will get back to you with a payment link.
(The gift cards are also made from Eco degradable PVC, so will break down much more quickly than regular plastic. )
NUTS
We sometimes use PEANUTS and NUTS in our doughnuts. All of our doughnuts and other items are made in the same environment as NUTS and or PEANUTS. Although we follow all procedures to prevent cross-contamination, we cannot guarantee the absence of these allergens across any of the foods we produce, so do not recommend them to people who suffer from NUT and/or PEANUT allergies.
GLUTEN
All of our doughnuts contain GLUTEN.
Some other products we make may also contain GLUTEN, please check the labelling of these when visiting us or ask a member of the team.
All of our doughnuts, baked goods, drinks and marshmallow fluff are suitable for VEGETARIANS.
If you would like to see a specific allergen list for our current menu, please email and we can send one across.
All of our doughnuts are made fresh and early every morning, and contain no artificial preservatives. For this reason, we recommend eating them on the same day as purchase to enjoy them at their soft & fluffy best!
Doughnuts with a freshly whipped custard or cream filling should ideally be consumed within a couple of hours of purchase. We do not recommend putting doughnuts in the fridge, as this can change the consistency of the dough, and make them a little tough!
We always have our most popular doughnuts available on the counter. Jam filled, Classic Vanilla Custard filled and ‘The Homer’, a raspberry glazed ring doughnut with sprinkles.
All other flavours change monthly, and where possible we always use seasonal, local ingredients! So, lots of forced pink rhubarb in Winter, strawberries & cream and soft peaches in Summer, and apple, spices and caramels in Autumn.
You can find a link to our monthly menu at the top of this page.
We are lucky to stock a handful of our favourite local businesses in and around Newcastle with doughnuts on certain days of the week.

Unfortunately we are not currently able to cater to weddings or large events, sorry! To cater to the standard we would like requires a much larger team and operation than we have currently. But it is something we are considering for the future.
We have completed a full, COVID-19 specific risk assessment for the bakery. We completed this before re-opening with the input and feedback of our team to make sure everyone was comfortable returning to work after the lockdown period.
Our aim has been to re-open as safely as possible for both our customers and our team, taking any pre-cautions we can.
We have completely changed the layout of our kitchen, so that all staff can work socially distanced (1 metre min.) at their own work-station. We already have extremely high standards of hygiene within our kitchen, but have increased sanitising of all high touch areas and equipment throughout the day as well as high touch areas within the serving area and server hatch at the front of the bakery.
All staff have been trained in new Covid safety procedures such as increased hand washing, sanitising and mask wearing hygiene. We take the temperatures of each team member before the start of each shift. Each team member is also fully informed of all symptoms to look out for and what to do if these symptoms do occur.
We have closed off the bakery to customers and are taking orders for take-way through a ‘safe server’ hatch. This means the team and customers are separated by glass, and our collection point which is open, is operated with social distancing practices in place. The whole team are wearing masks whilst working at the bakery.
We have put a 2 metre socially distanced queuing system in place outside of our unit, and have some distanced outdoor seating available. Our pre-order system was also put in place to help reduce the number of people standing in the queue. This has helped a lot!
We are asking for contactless payments only where possible and do appreciate it when customers wear masks and use the hand sanitiser when visiting us.
We all wear food safe gloves and masks as an extra precaution when serving customers and within the kitchen, and will also be carrying out extra cleaning of customer service areas throughout the day so we appreciate your patience!
We are also keeping up to date with any changes to guidelines for food business, and update our Risk Assessment as and when needed.
Our bakery is located within Hoults Yard. There are lots of parking spaces directly outside of the bakery.
Parking is FREE for the 1st HOUR. After that, it is £1 for another 2 hours.
Please note that the parking bays outside and around our unit are all part of the yard, and the parking is camera operated by Parking Eye.
There are lots of signs dotted about the yard with info on Pay By Phone. There is also a parking metre directly opposite the bakery, and the closest information sign is on the corner of our building. Please take notice of the signage.
If parking in one of the bays closest to our unit, you will have step free access to the bakery.
